About Practice

Salman Okour, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. 

At his private practice, Southern California Center for Advanced Gynecology, in Fountain Valley, California, Dr. Okour offers exceptional care and support to adolescent girls and women of all ages who are struggling with a wide range of gynecologic problems.

After graduating from the University of Baghdad in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Okour completed his OB/GYN residency at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. During his residency, he was involved in the surgical training of senior residents. 

He also received the faculty residents teaching award from the Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.

As a high-volume gynecologic surgeon, Dr. Okour has extensive experience that has enabled him to optimize minimally invasive techniques. As a result, he provides better outcomes and has lower complication rates.

Dr. Okour's surgical specialties include laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and minimally invasive procedures such as abdominal cerclage and endometrial ablation. 

He brings expert skills in fertility-enhancing myomectomy, ovarian tissue-preserving cystectomy, endometriosis resection, as well as laparoscopic hysterectomies, pelvic organ prolapse surgery, colpocleisis, and tubal reanastomosis. 

With clinical interests covering the full spectrum of gynecologic conditions, Dr. Okour often treats uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic organ prolapse, and infertility. 

He maintains professional memberships in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
